Mazda B2200i/B2600i PU ECM engine controller removal directions: Be sure to unplug the battery terminals before removing unit!! Inside the cab on the passenger side remove the trim on the kick panel to the right by removing the Phillips head screws. This exposes the ECM. Use your 10 or12mm socket or wrench to remove the mounts. Unplug the 3 plugs from the harness (on Mitsubishi/Dodge) or 2 plugs from the harness (Mazda) by depressing the tab in the center of plug and pulling away.
**Repair service requires you to remove your unit or have it removed and send it to us for repair. Most units are repairable same day. Some of the more rare boards or the Heavy Duty ECM's can take from 24-48 hours after we receive your unit. For repair service we offer free fedex ground pick-up. You only pay shipping if you want the bad core returned. If your board is not repairable we will try to find one on our shelf or purchase another core that is repairable. Customer pays the cost for a new core. When sending in your unit be sure to go to this SEND UNITS FORM page, fill in the information, print it out and send it in with your unit. Be sure to get insurance for replacement value of unit(s) and keep the tracking number info. Most rebuilders do not use test vehicles they simply test your unit using a volt-meter. This is not an accurate way of testing and ECM/ECU. If your ECM/ECU runs in our test vehicle then it should run in yours. We do not have to guess like the other guys do. We also employ the MUT-II ECM scanner tester as used by MITSUBISHI/CHRYSLER. We offer FREE TESTING on most OBD-I DSM-MITSUBISHI units. IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all units are repairable. Many have significant damage that render a unit not repairable. We can also advise you if another problem with your car has caused this damage (example: bad idle speed control motor or electrical surge from ground short) to your unit and may occur again and should be rectified before reinstalling your electronic control unit(s). We will advise of this pertinent information and costs of getting a replacement unit if needed. We will only purchase a replacement core for you once we have your approval. Again the return of the un-repairable unit is at the customers expense.
